Save a Life, adopt a friend

Animals R Friends is dedicated to saving the lives of our homeless cats and dogs and you can help.

With just a single act, you can directly save a life:

  • Open your home to an abandoned or abused animal and provide temporary foster care.
  • Make a donation to help us care for a homeless animal.
  • Provide a permanently safe home for homeless cats, dogs and other animals.
  • Enable lifesaving veterinary treatment for a seriously injured or sick animal by donating some funds to Animals R friends.

There is a nominal adoption fee which covers the following :

  • initial health screening
  • pre-adoption vaccinations (1st in a series, additional vaccinations are not included)
  • spaying or neutering deworming
  • ID tag-collar-leash

Foster Care Program

What is involved?

Volunteering to provide temporary foster care in your home. All foster volunteers must attend a volunteer orientation, interview with ARF, receive appropriate training and agree to a home check. A Foster Parent will be responsible for the pet for a week to several months.

The animals needing fostering are:

  • Puppies or kittens (8 weeks old) that are too young to be adopted;
  • Mother cat or dog with nursing kittens or puppies; Feral kittens;
  • An abused (shy or fearful) dog or cat that needs socialization and tender loving care;
  • An injured dog or cat that is recovering from surgery or illness (may need medication);
  • A dog or cat that has a cold or cough;
  • Healthy adult animals who need a break from a cage at the vet.

Foster Families for pets of victims of domestic violence and owners will never meet and all information about either party is kept strictly confidential.

Required skills: Knowledge of animal care and experience with animals is preferred. Foster Volunteers must possess patience and compassion and must care for our animals in a responsible manner.

We always have a special need for Foster Volunteers, both for puppies and kittens and adult animals.
